Global Taste in Shanghai: Explore the autumn delights

The launch ceremony for the Bondless Flavors season of the Global Taste in Shanghai campaign was held on Sept 29 at Panlong Ancient Town in Qingpu district.

The fourth and final season of this year's Global Taste in Shanghai campaign, Bondless Flavors, continues to connect food with culture, commerce, tourism, sports, and exhibitions. It features food markets, consumer promotions, and dining experiences tied to major events such as the China International Import Expo, Shanghai Tourism Festival, and HADO World Cup 2026.

100-plus dining options

The fourth-quarter Global Food Selection Package Guide was released at the ceremony, featuring more than 100 restaurants and other food businesses across Shanghai.

The selection includes dishes from different countries, creative fusion cuisine, themed afternoon teas, and premium food-and-drink packages. The options cater to a range of occasions, from family gatherings and business dining to casual outings.

Representatives from Bella Napoli, Eli Falafel, Parlay, and Akanee Thai, along with chef Deng Huadong, presented their signature dishes aboard a themed boat as it cruised along the waterfront of Panlong Ancient Town.

Shanghai's global food landmarks

The Shanghai Global Food Landmark Guide was released for the first time.

Shanghai Xintiandi and EKA Tianwu were named two neighborhood-based global food landmarks. Five shopping destinations were named mall-based global food landmarks: Global Harbor, HKRI Taikoo Hui, Xintiandi The Hub, Bund Finance Center, and L+Mall.

Food events across the city

A series of food-themed activities will take place across Shanghai this autumn.

From Oct 1 to 7, the Shanghai Museum will host a food night market featuring flavors from the Americas. The market will run from 6 pm to 10 pm each evening.

From Sept 30 to Nov 8, the Xujiahui commercial area will host the Unbounded Food Carnival. The event will feature three themed activities: a noodle festival from Sept 30 to Oct 4, a burger festival from Oct 21 to 25, and a dessert festival from Nov 6 to 8.

Hongkou district will also host a wrap festival alongside HADO World Cup 2026, which will take place at the North Bund on Nov 21.
