SUS ENVIRONMENT Brings China's Solid Waste Management Experience to Global Stage at World Cleanup Day 2026

SHAOXING, China, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- SUS ENVIRONMENT participated in the 2026 World Cleanup Day Global Observance in Shaoxing, sharing China's experience in sustainable solid waste management and circular urban development with international partners.

Established by the United Nations General Assembly, World Cleanup Day held its global observance in China for the first time this year. Under the theme "From Clean Plates to Clean Cities," the event brought together representatives from organizations, governments, businesses and academia to explore solutions for cleaner and more sustainable cities.

At a UN-Habitat Parallel Session, SUS ENVIRONMENT joined a roundtable and shared its approach to integrating food waste into circular eco-industrial parks, where municipal solid waste, food waste, sludge and other waste streams can be treated in coordination. By linking material recovery with energy utilization, SUS aims to extend circularity from individual facilities to broader urban systems.

During the event, SUS ENVIRONMENT also held discussions with senior UN-Habitat representatives, including Raf Tuts, Director of the Global Solutions Division; Andre Dzikus, Chief of the Urban Basic Services Section; and Cecilia Andersson, Programme Management Officer and Head of the Waste Management Team. Discussions covered Waste-to-Energy infrastructure planning in developing markets, international sharing of proven technologies and practices, as well as potential cooperation in green finance, environmental education and community initiatives.

At the concurrent China Association of Urban Environmental Sanitation Annual Conference, SUS executives delivered two presentations covering the company's domestic and international development. Topics included standardized and AI-enabled operations for Waste-to-Energy facilities, as well as technology localization, sustainable business models and overseas project development.

SUS projects were also featured at the Clean City Development Achievement Exhibition, highlighting the company's experience in sustainable urban infrastructure across China and overseas.
