YR Fitness Builds on chocoZAP Collaboration to Further Expand in Japan

SHANGHAI, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- YR Fitness, a China-based commercial fitness equipment manufacturer focused on original design, in-house R&D and manufacturing, is building on its experience supporting chocoZAP to deepen its understanding of the Japanese fitness market.

Operated by RIZAP Group, chocoZAP has grown to more than 2,000 locations across Japan with a convenience-fitness model built around making exercise easier to fit into everyday life.

YR equipment was introduced into the chocoZAP project through a Japanese distribution partner during the early development of the concept.

Different Operating Models Need Different Equipment

A compact, convenience-focused gym operates differently from a traditional full-service fitness club.

Space efficiency, intuitive use, maintainability and repeatable store configuration all become important when equipment is deployed in a format designed for simple, everyday access.

For the chocoZAP project, YR invested in dedicated product customization and production preparation to adapt equipment to the operating requirements of the format.

Bringing Market Feedback Back Into the Product

For YR, localization is not simply changing a color or specification.

Feedback from real operating environments helps the product team evaluate usability, maintenance, configuration and other details that affect day-to-day gym operations.

That experience has also given YR a closer view of how Japanese fitness operators think about space, simplicity, maintenance and user experience.

As chocoZAP continues to develop its network and format, YR sees the experience as part of a broader approach to international markets: understand the operating model first, then adapt the product around it.
